The first edition of Kenyan Talent, UK Educated took place on September 10th, 2024 at the PrideInn Azure in Nairobi.
We had over 300 registrations, about one third of which were UK Graduates and the rest Kenyan students interested in studying at UK Higher Education Institutions.
We are grateful to have had the support from the British Council Kenya, thank you, Tom Porter for opening the exhibition for us and to Monica Blagescu and her team for support prior to and on the day. Alumni and prospective students alike enjoyed connecting with Mary Ndiguri at the British Council and Marvin Bichanga on the Chevening stands, ably supported by a team of alumni volunteers.
It was great to have Colin Sykes representing the high commission at the evening networking reception and highlight the very many links which exist between the UK and Kenya. We were pleased to have BrighterMonday Kenya on board for the event, with ERICK WILSON WAFULA sharing insights into the needs of and opportunities within Kenya's workforce today and Denis Githinji delivered a session on personal branding for all present.
To all the employers who joined us exhibit - we thank you for believing in the concept, and it was great to see so many detailed and fruitful conversations taking place. G3 is very grateful to the volunteers from both employers and alumni who shared advice and insights. We certainly left the day feeling positive and inspired by Peninah Mwaka in particular!
A big shout-out to Faith Cherono Rono and the TradePro team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes with us in ensuring a successful event.
Last but not least, thank you to our twelve universities who sponsored the event and without whom it would not have been possible.
